Another plonkerisation (music this time)

Journo and musician Rhodri Marsden has been moaning about how we all go on about the music industry needing to find a new business model, but he reckons nobody comes up with viable ideas. What a load of crap. There are endless suggested models, like this, this, this, these and loads more.

  • Certainly some interesting ideas here and in the third model you used as an example, a very workable gameplan. Bands such as The Brian Jonestown Massacre have had a headsup on this for quite some time (in as much as keeping the music free and for sale simultaneously…plus keeping ticket prices low). I’m starting to see some light. I guess the litmus test comes when you’re forced to look in the mirror and ask “am I an artist”?
